| My focus has been on capturing beauty and inspiration. Our Creator entrusted us with a planet of extraordinary natural beauty. I have great admiration for the people whose creativity has given us beautiful buildings, parks, gardens, bridges and other architectural wonders of past and present. My photographs are meant to encourage others to explore “our world”, enjoy it and preserve it.
I am constantly amazed by the beauty and order of nature. I am intrigued by different people and cultures. My curiosity has been fueled by a degree in environmental biology and extensive travel on photographic assignments. I see our world as a large tapestry made up of unlimited small details. My work ranges from large scale panoramics to detailed macro photography - sometimes looking at the “whole scene” and other times studying the geometry and colors of the details.
For over twenty years I have been traveling the world photographing for corporate clients and international picture agencies based in New York, Chicago, London and Hong Kong. My images have been published in numerous publications, including the covers of Time Magazine, Business Week, and a four-page panoramic annual report cover for McDonalds.
“Favorite Places and Open Spaces” features images from my personal collection of photographs created during my travels. Current digital technology enables me to print large scale photographic images right in our studio. I prefer the look and feel of images printed using pigmented inks and archival papers and artist canvas to the previous “wet chemistry process”. And the process is much friendlier to our environment.
Through my photography I hope to inspire people to become more diligent in making balanced choices concerning our natural environment and historical landmarks. Our world is very precious. We must constantly educate ourselves on better and more productive ways to utilize the earth’s limited resources while still preserving its wilderness and natural beauty. My hope is that future generations will be able to find places to see and experience the Creator’s handiwork.
